KIMBLE COUNTY, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — An 18-year-old man from the Austin area was arrested for allegedly smuggling humans in Kimble County after attempting to flee from law enforcement April 22. (NEWS10) -- The Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has released the 2022 deer harvest estimates with New York hunters harvesting an estimated 231,961 deer during the 2022 hunting seasons. Among the 2022-23 estimated deer take, the numbers included 116,425 antlered bucks and 115,536 antlerless deer. The DEC says there was a five-percent increase in antlered buck harvest and a 15% increase in antlerless deer harvest from last season. The DEC says nearly 2,300 deer were harvested by youth hunters during the Youth Hunt Weekend, a 38% increase from 2021.
