Video: Burglars breaks into University City restaurant but coming up empty UNIVERSITY CITY, Mo. – Restaurant burglars came up empty in University City and end up getting punked in a new video on social media.Surveillance video shows three suspects breaking the front door glass of Diego’s Cantina just before 12:30 a.m. on March 14, hopping over the bar, and rifling through everything in an apparent search for cash. The restaurant’s owners are now using that surveillance video to send a message right back to the criminals, adding a few touches of their own, including music from the song, “Notorious Thugs,” and super-sarcastic captions like, “Nope – we don’t keep cash in our drawer.” The video highlights $2 the burglars left behind on the floor with the caption, “Oh wait, you missed $2.” Special prosecutor requested for child abuse case involving former Department of Corrections employee “$2 fell out. I guess it was leftover tips from someone or some extra change. It was just on the ground,” said Natasha Kwan, who owns the restaurant with her husband. “They ...

Kiszla: Avs coach Jared Bednar has earned every penny of new contract extension. This team’s resolve to seize big moment? Not worth 2 cents. Did somebody forget to give Sid the Kid the memo?On a Wednesday night when we were all supposed to stand up and cheer for Avalanche coach Jared Bednar and his well-deserved contract extension, the Pittsburgh Penguins and Sidney Crosby gave Colorado a face wash during a 4-2 loss at Ball Arena with way too many rowdy Yinzers in the building chanting “Let’s go Pens!”“It was a big moment for our team, right?” said Bednar, who stressed to his players in the dressing room prior to taking the ice that this game meant more than the average regular-season tilt. “We had a chance to go into first in our division.”Bednar is worth every last penny of his contract extension, reported to be in the neighborhood of $5 million per season. But time and again, the resolve of his banged-up team to seize the moment in this wonky season hasn’t been worth two cents. The loss to Pittsburgh put a screeching halt to Colorado’s six-game winning streak. Warriors-Mavericks confusing third-quarter play leads to Cuban protest, Kerr quip DALLAS — Coach Steve Kerr had to do a double take after a timeout late in the third quarter of Wednesday’s pivotal Western Conference showdown. All five Dallas players were on the opposite side of the court, allowing Kevon Looney to throw down an uncontested basket. “It was my best ATO of the year,” Kerr said with a smile. “It worked brilliantly just the way we got organized and confused them.”The confusing sequence drew ire from Mavericks owner Mark Cuban who plan to file a protest of the Warriors’ 127-125 win over the Mavericks, according to ESPN. With 1:54 left in the third, Jordan Poole inbounded the ball to Looney who dunked it for a quick and easy two-point play. “I was just glad JP passed to me,” Looney said. “I needed that to get to my double-double.”Kerr wasn’t sure what caused the confusion. “I had to stop and think, ‘Wait, aren’t we — isn’t this our basket?’ Because I had drawn...
