(KDVR) — It has now been more than a decade since the Aurora theater shooting that killed 12 and hurt at least 70 others. Community, loved ones and friends are coming together to reflect and remember the 11th anniversary of the shooting.Within the 7/20 Memorial Garden, between blossoming flowers, there are signs with pictures and stories honoring all 12 of those lives that were lost 11 years ago when a gunman opened fire at a midnight movie. DENVER (KDVR) -- Denver's Department of Transportation and Infrastructure is cracking down on parked scooters on sidewalks in the city. Some Denver residents are not able to make it around town simply because of how someone parked their electric scooter. Tom Miller and many other disabled Denver residents are asking people to be more cautious. Getting a ride in an accessible van is difficult, so the majority of the time Miller is using his power chair to get around, and those scooters being parked on the sidewalk have not made that easy. He’s been in a wheelchair and power scooter for quite some time after an infection in his left leg led to an amputation. Now, getting to the clinic that's making his prosthetic is difficult. UConn has settled a lawsuit filed by a former women’s soccer player who lost her scholarship for flashing her middle finger in the direction of a TV camera as the Huskies celebrated winning a conference championship in 2014.The former student athlete, Noriana Radwan, alleged that the gesture amounted to free speech and she was subjected to harsher punishment than male athletes who violated the school’s conduct rules.Under terms of the settlement disclosed in court Wednesday, Radwan will receive just over $46,000 to cover the cost of her student debt at Hofstra, where she transferred after losing her scholarship.
